Seismic Free Spring

The Vibro-Acoustics SFS series of seismically-rated floor-mounted free spring isolators provide vibration isolation for mechanical systems and equipment. The SFS isolator is similar to the FS isolator with the addition of a seismic restraint housing for greater lateral and vertical support. These “open” isolators use uniquely-engineered springs that provide a minimum of 50% additional travel to solid and are powder-coated and color-coded for superior corrosion protection and ease of identification. All other hardware is zinc plated, including the adjustment nuts used secure the isolated equipment. The SFS isolator also comes with an all-directional elastomeric snubber to prevent metal-to-metal contact between item components.

Typical applications include indoor and outdoor mechanical equipment requiring isolation under seismic and wind loads. Typical equipment may include mounted fans, pumps with and without inertia bases and general equipment such as air handlers.

Seismic Restrained Spring

Vibro-Acoustics’ SCSR series of seismically rated floor mounted restrained isolators provide vibration isolation and restraint for mechanical systems and equipment. The SCSR isolator includes a welded housing designed to limit vertical and lateral movement of the top support plate caused by seismic or wind loading. All models use uniquely-engineered springs that are designed to provide a minimum of 50% additional travel to solid and are powder-coated and color-coded for superior corrosion protection and ease of identification. All other hardware is zinc plated, including the adjustment nut, restraining bolts, and support rod. The housings are either painted or hot-dipped galvanized as appropriate to endure a variety of environments.

Applications include indoor and outdoor mechanical equipment isolation with lateral loads and changes in operating weight, located in seismic zones or where wind loading could be an issue. Typical equipment may include: cooling towers, chillers, air-cooled condensers, etc.
