Film-Lined Silencers

Indoor air or environmental quality concerns often mandate the use of barrier materials such as polymer films to ensure no fibrous media particles are drawn into the airstream or that nothing in the airstream is embedded in the media. Vibro-Acoustics’ film-lined silencers include film-lining between the acoustical media and the perforated metal which forms the baffles and chambers. Film-lining options include Mylar and Vibar^TM, a polymer film that is resistant to heat, solvents and acids. Vibro-Acoustics’ film-lined silencers with Vibar^TM are a class 1 category assembly with a Flame-Spread index of 0 and a Smoke Development of 15 when tested in accordance to ASTM E84. These ratings meet and exceed the NFPA 90A maximum requirements.

Typical applications include education, health care, laboratories and other institutional facilities.
